# Coach Mode Extension — Prototype (PREVIEW, not store-listed)

**What it is:** a Manifest V3 browser extension prototype that puts the SI Game Academy coach in the browser side panel, next to whatever guide/game tab a player is using.

**What it deliberately does NOT do:**
- No screen capture permission (`tabCapture` / `desktopCapture` are NOT requested).
- No content scripts, no `host_permissions`, no background tab watching, no analytics.
- Permissions declared: `activeTab` (act only on the tab the user clicks from) and `sidePanel` — that's the whole list.

**Install (parent, for testing):**
1. Open `chrome://extensions` (or your Chromium browser's Extensions page).
2. Turn on **Developer mode**.
3. Click **Load unpacked** and select this `coach-extension/` folder.
4. Click the 🎮 toolbar button on any tab → the coach panel opens. Close the panel to stop — nothing keeps running.

**Live-wiring notes:** the production extension will be store-listed, parent-installed, point at the live Academy origin, and write session start/stop events to the parent-visible capture log via the Academy API. Screenshot reading, if ever shipped, must be a separate, explicit, per-use permission with ephemeral processing — it is NOT part of this prototype.
