For Parents

SI Game Academy turns screen time you already allow into problem-solving practice β€” and gives you the receipt: a Skill Passport and a weekly digest, not just a bill.

Player Skill Passport

  • Logic β€” Redstone-style circuits, rotation & strategy (Rocket League, Zelda shrines)
  • Problem-solving β€” Stuck β†’ hint β†’ try again (the Photo Hint loop)

Weekly Digest β€” copy & send it yourself

The live Academy emails this to parents weekly. In the preview it's generated on-page from real local activity β€” copy it into your own email if you like. No email is sent by this site.

How ratings work here

Kid browsing, recommendations and For You never show M-rated games. An exact-name search shows a locked card (title, platform, "Rated M" badge and plain-words descriptors only β€” no art, no hype) with a Request Access doorbell. Approvals are per child: unlocking a game for your teen does not unlock it for your 9-year-old. Full Access (per child, above) opens every rating for that child β€” and only affects game ratings: friend approvals, room play and chat settings stay exactly as you set them. Every request, decision and toggle is written to the access log and summarized in the Weekly Digest. Preview note: the two children here are demo profiles β€” Teen (15) and Kid (9) β€” switched with the buttons above; real accounts give each child their own profile.

About Academy Ratings: each versus game keeps its own Elo-style rating (start 800; K=32 for a player's first 30 games in that game, then K=24 β€” the standard learning curve). Ratings are Academy-only: they never leave this product, are never sold, and exist so kids can see themselves improve and get matched with the right bot. Solo puzzles earn XP and streaks instead β€” no fake ratings.

Capture log β€” Coach Mode, hints & activity

Coach Mode sessions, photo hints, XP events and team briefings on this device are logged here for you. In the live version this log is parent-visible by design (transparency is the feature).

Parent dashboard preview β€” this device's real data

Weekly digest (preview, from this browser)

This is the honest preview: data lives only in this browser (localStorage) until live parent accounts launch. In the live version you own your child's data, can export or delete it, and deletion is permanent β€” not a support ticket.

πŸ“² The Academy on your child's iPad

Install it like an app: open this site in Safari on the iPad β†’ Share β†’ Add to Home Screen β†’ Add. It opens full-screen from its own icon, works fully offline after the first load (library, trackers, Tommy's built-in answers), and can show a badge count.

Push reminders need the installed Home Screen app (that's an Apple rule for web apps). Your preference is saved here now; actual sending starts at launch, from the parent account only β€” never ads, never third-party trackers.

    Safety & privacy posture

    • No behavioral advertising. We sell a subscription to parents, not attention or data.
    • Friend chat β€” with YOUR permission (updated 2026-10-13). Kids can chat with real-life friends ONLY when all three are true: (1) they know the friend's exact login ID (there is no directory, search, discovery or stranger matching β€” ever), (2) the friend accepts the request, and (3) you approve it below. You can read transcripts, revoke a friend, or switch chat off entirely. Messages are filtered automatically (phone numbers, emails, addresses, school names and unkind words are blocked), with report & block built in.
    • Tommy is a coach, not a best friend. He stays on game topics, refuses grown-up/unsafe topics kindly, and points kids to a trusted adult (and 988/911 where safety is at stake).
    • Screenshots: in v1 photos never leave the device and metadata is stripped on-device. Any future screenshot-reading feature will be ephemeral, opt-in, and logged for parents.
    • Breaks: coaches remind kids to stretch, drink water, and stop β€” especially in long sessions.
    • Draft posture, honestly labeled: This page describes our design commitments for COPPA and California's SB 243 (AI companion) posture. It is not a legal certification β€” formal counsel review happens before any live launch collecting children's data.

The honest age & publishing page

We will never pitch your child "earn real money playing games." Here are the platforms' real rules, plainly:

    • Fortnite / Epic: Joining the Island Creator Program, publishing islands for engagement payouts, and receiving payouts are 18+. Kids can learn Creative/UEFN skills now and build a portfolio; publishing-for-payout waits until 18 under Epic's rules, through the adult's own account.
    • Minecraft / Mojang: Playing and building is for everyone; commercial use follows Mojang's Usage Guidelines. Our MAKE framing is "publish your game to the world" β€” a portfolio and audience, not a paycheck promise. NOT AN OFFICIAL MINECRAFT PRODUCT. NOT APPROVED BY OR ASSOCIATED WITH MOJANG OR MICROSOFT.
    • Roblox: Creating in Studio is open to young creators with parent-managed accounts; cashing out (DevEx) has its own age (13+ with parent/guardian involvement) and minimums under Roblox's terms. Parents manage accounts and any money, always.

Our framing to kids is only ever: "publish your game to the world." Any earnings conversation is parent-to-parent, with the platform rules above on the table.
